Hand crafted necklace and earring set made of Bronze (dyed) 4mm pearls, White Oval 4mm Pearls and Silver lined Czech seed beads for a little sparkle.

Necklace:

I designed this necklace for a member of a wedding party. I envision one of the special women (bride, mother of the bride, future mother-in-law) wearing this piece. Sorry, materials are not available to make multiple sets. The pearls are fresh water and thread is of soft white and is thermally fused (made in the USA). The pattern used with these pearls is known as ‘color block’ with the bottom section containing a few silver lined size 6 Czech seed beads for a touch of sparkle. This handmade necklace uses Sterling Silver findings and the clasp is handmade by Gabby Grey. To add a bit of flash, several pearls dangle at the side of the clasp.

 

Earrings: These earrings enhance the necklace by using the Bronze pearls and sterling silver findings. The pearls are from the same dye lot as the necklace.

 

Care and cleaning:

Do not use jewelry cleansers or cleaners on pearl jewelry, use warm water and a mild soap on a soft cloth, do not soak pearls in water. Over time natural body oils will be absorbed by the pearls and actually enhance the pearl colors. Lay flat to dry overnight. You can use standard jeweler’s polishing cloth on the sterling silver.

 

About Bead Crochet:

Seed bead crochet is labor intensive, dating back to the early 1820’s. Each tiny bead is touched 3 times to build the spiral rope.

First touch: All beads are strung onto the cord in a predetermined pattern.

Second touch: Crochet the first row of beads, adding one bead with each stitch and determines the diameter of the rope.

Third touch: The subsequent rows are crocheted into each stitch of the previous row adding one new bead while flipping the previous bead to the side.
